You have played a leading role in the healing of yourself and others. You know how to read a room, how to hold space, how to help someone feel more grounded in their own body.

And somewhere along the way, you started to notice that the breath was a good indicator of your own wellbeing. You noticed the temptation to hold your breath when you were stressed. And how that removed you from the present moment. From your body, from the session, from yourself.

So you started experimenting. A deep breath here. A moment to slow down there. A couple of breaths in and out and you were able to focus, to feel more present.

Maybe you were a skeptic at first. A lot of us were. But then you experienced a facilitated breathwork session for yourself, live or recorded, and something happened that you weren't expecting. It was transformative, powerful, emotional. You were forever changed. And after that session, you could not stop thinking about it.

That curiosity has become a calling.

This training will give you the tools to answer it. You'll deepen your understanding of the physiology of breathing, how the breath interacts with the nervous system, and how to hold brave space for others. Not with a script. You will lead heart-led sessions that are based on your lived experiences and intuition.

This isn't just a certification. It's your invitation to lead, to heal, and to change lives, starting with your own.

The Informed Intuitive Breathwork training with Breath Liberation Society is not for everyone

We are a trauma-informed breathwork school for healing professionals and breathwork enthusiasts committed to liberation and transformation through the breath. We are inclusive, anti-racist, and deeply invested in training facilitators who reflect the communities they serve.

This 5-month training goes beyond technique. You will learn from 24 experts in the healing arts including psychotherapists, sound ritualists, body workers, and somatic practitioners inside our Apiary Library. You will receive individual coaching and facilitation clearance before you see your first client. And when you complete the training, you will be eligible to register with the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance, one of the most respected credentialing bodies in the field.

Your access to the training materials does not expire. Every update, every new lesson, yours for life.

This is not a weekend certification. This is the real thing.

Let me guess...

You found breathwork and it changed something in you. Maybe it was at a workshop, maybe it was in a moment of personal crisis, maybe it was completely by accident. However it happened, you have not been able to stop thinking about it since.

You already do healing work in some form. You are a therapist, a nurse, a coach, a grief worker, a yoga teacher, a body worker, or something else entirely. You are looking for ways to help people process what words cannot hold. You have been in the room with enough suffering to know that the nervous system needs more than conversation. And you have watched enough people stay stuck in their heads to know that there has to be another way in.

You want to share what you have already experienced yourself. You want to bring something to your community that gets people out of their brains and into their bodies. And you are not willing to just go anywhere to learn how to do it, because you understand better than most how important it is to hold ethical, trauma-informed space.

You are in the right place.

Breathwork Love

"Breath Liberation Society has a unique approach, with a real, hands on, "walk the talk" method when it comes down to diversity & inclusion. The program is structured around a myriad of facilitators rather than around just one "guru". The result is a teaching that is at core aligned with the deep collective values that it is teaching. That changes everything! And behind that master plan, people who are truly dedicated to provide a coherent, cohesive, complete training. 5 Stars." — Catherine May, Perfumer

"My journey as a therapist can be pretty lonely. It was nice to have live lectures and a community in between. It added a whole other element to my practice that I am so grateful for." — Lizette Monroy, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, California

After this training, here's what becomes true for you:

You know exactly what to do after holding space for someone in crisis. You have the tools to move through what you witnessed without carrying it home with you. You have learned how to support without absorbing.

You have boundaries that protect your energy while still letting you be fully present. You can feel deeply, care completely, and still not be crushed by the weight of what you are holding.

You have found purpose with breathwork. Maybe that means guiding sessions for clients. Maybe it means moving through your own life with more ease, like taking a few rounds of straw breathing before a tough meeting, or pausing for one intentional breath before responding to that family member who always knows how to push your buttons.

You feel confident leading sessions, even when things get emotional, messy, or don't go according to plan.

You feel confident voicing your needs, setting your boundaries, and protecting your energy without guilt or apology.

You feel confident trusting your intuition in the room, knowing you can hold whatever arises with skill and care.

This is who you become. And this training is how you get there.

This is who you become. And this training is how you get there.

Here's Our Process

Breathwork Foundations

A strong personal practice is the foundation of authentic facilitation. You begin the training with 30 days of guided breathwork meditations, a self-paced program designed to deepen your relationship with the breath, build consistency, and give you firsthand experience of what your future clients will feel. You cannot guide someone somewhere you have never been.

Holding space

At Breath Liberation Society we do not believe in pre-planning or scripting out sessions. In this module you will explore the physiology of breathing, understanding how the breath works in the body and why it is such a powerful tool for transformation. You will also dive into energy work and learn to offer intuitive, heart-led sessions rooted in your lived experience. And you will learn the ethics of holding space, professional boundaries, and how to create a container that is consent-based, empowering, and safe for the breather.

Responsible Facilitation Method

This is our signature framework. You will learn our step-by-step method for facilitating both the Three Part Breath and the Conscious Connected Breath, two of the most powerful and widely used breathwork modalities. You will learn how to facilitate well-informed, responsible, and supportive sessions including contraindications, safety protocols, and how to screen clients. You will practice with your peers, submit session reviews for feedback, and complete case studies before receiving your facilitation clearance and seeing your first client.

Trauma Informed Care

Learn how breathwork interacts with the nervous system and how different breathing practices evoke different parts of the body's stress response. You will learn to facilitate sessions that empower the breather to do their own healing. This module also covers integration practices, including how to support someone who has a difficult experience and how to create a post-session care document to send your clients home with.

Group Sessions

Facilitating groups requires a different kind of leadership. In this module you will learn how to plan, structure, and hold space for three or more people at once. You will learn what boundaries are necessary and how to hold a group container that ensures everyone is cared for and considered.

Business of Breathwork

BLS graduates bring breathwork into therapy practices, wellness collectives, corporate settings, grief work, somatic coaching, and beyond. This module covers the basics of building and pricing your offers, the Business Lab group coaching sessions, and everything you need to start sharing this work with confidence. You will leave with a clear picture of how breathwork fits into your practice and what your next step looks like.

Before we keep going, I should introduce myself...

Hi! I'm Chauna (she/her), founder of Breath Liberation Society.

I'm a dog mom, fitness expert, and lover of all things sunshine and oceans. I started a Breathwork school because I wanted to spark real change in the Breathwork community, and over the past 6 years, that's exactly what's happened.

Since opening our doors, BLS has trained over 70 Breathwork facilitators and served hundreds of community members through our virtual outreach programs across the US and abroad (as far as Sydney, Australia!!). Our graduates are leading sessions everywhere from private practices to wellness centers, therapy offices to corporate spaces.

I've had the privilege of representing BLS at conferences and trainings across the US and UK, and most recently served as Facilitator in Residence at Sounds True and presented at the Polyvagal Institute's Global Gathering, bringing trauma-informed, inclusive Breathwork to stages that have historically centered more traditional voices.

Here's why BLS exists:

Too often, I found that Breathwork schools lacked diversity and operated in the outdated wellness model of having one "all-knowing" leader. Schools taught either the magical side of Breathwork or the science, rarely both, and almost never with nuance.

At Breath Liberation Society, we're doing things differently. Our Apiary (faculty) represents different voices, backgrounds, and perspectives. We believe in Breathwork as a tool for intuition development AND magic, and we go deep into using it for nervous system regulation. You get both. You get all of it.

If you believe in the power of Breathwork and are excited about shaking sh*t up, welcome. I'm glad you're here.

The Informed Intuitive Certificate is for:

✦  People who are passionate about breathwork, and excited to share it with their friends and community.

✦  Self starters who are motivated to learn on their own, and thrilled to be joining a community of like minded folx.

✦  People who are well versed in healthy coping mechanisms as we will explore some serious topics that will likely stir up emotions. (Be prepared to self -soothe and/or reach for outside support if necessary.)

✦  People who have access to a strong internet connection and the tech resources to participate fully in the online live classes and practice sessions.

✦  Queer folx, black folx, trans folx, differently-abled folx, people of color and anyone who is committed to being in community and of service to ALL people.

The Informed Intuitive Certificate is NOT for:

✦  Anyone who wants to facilitate breathwork, but not PRACTICE it themselves. Personal practice is the key to authentic facilitation.

✦  Anyone who wants to ignore critical thinking, follow a script during healing sessions, and be led guru-style.

✦  Anyone who is looking for one-on-one mentorship as they become a facilitator. In this training, we learn and grow together as a group. One-on-one support will not be available.

✦  Those who are expecting location-specific or legal business advice (taxes, business filings, marketing). While we will address standard business practices for Breathwork, we will not be covering how to individually structure or promote your services.

✦  Anyone who believes that healing spaces should be exclusive and limited to only a chosen few.

 Eli aka The Gender Doula

I went from a wobbly beginner to a confident professional. Unlike a weekend intensive, the depth and breadth of this program has given me confidence in my skill set and the training to handle even unexpected outcomes.

Bridget Caragher, Mental Health Therapist

Breathwork has changed my relationship with my self-care, my body, the way I experience emotions. It has made me feel more free.

Laurel Santos, LPC and LMFT

Breathwork is the thing that helps clients get the most in their body. Even people who have done EMDR find it to be the most effective way to get into that space.

Sherry, Psychotherapist & Somatic Practitioner

I appreciate the insight, the depth of understanding, and the truly genuine care and attention to detail. There is not another facilitator training program like this.

Shannon Schueler, RN

Breath Liberation Society fosters brilliant, intuitive space holders. Anyone can learn to facilitate breathwork, but this is different.

Shannon Cury, Collectively Well

Grateful to have learned from so many experts committed to integrity, service, and support. You balanced the intuitive nature of this work with the fundamentals so well.

We are GPBA accredited!

This course was so groundbreaking for me! I’m still engulfed in the information shared and relationships formed. I am so grateful and thankful! If you are interested in becoming a Breathwork Facilitator than this is where you need to be.

"Intuition is something we all have access to and can be built. If you are coming in with a different confidence level, keep an open mind. This is a space to explore it."

— Bridget Caragher, Mental Health Therapist

"I was referring a lot of clients to other practitioners and they were not following up. Once I got this training I could offer it myself instead of referring out."

— Laurel Santos, LPC and LMFT

"This training is perfect for ethical, anti-racist, community-minded professionals who want to learn to hold others through transformative somatic practices in a warm, supportive environment."

— Eli, the Gender Doula

"This program has strengthened my personal practice, my facilitation, and changed my life in a profound way. I am so much more confident in holding space for others."

— Sarah Stephans., RN

Breathwork has enabled me to reach deeper inside than I have been able to through meditation. I can always tell how I am really feeling and work through those challenges or pleasures. Chauna is a true healer and holds space for others in a way that promotes growth, healing, introspection, or whatever your soul is calling for at the time. After the first time I did breathwork with Chauna I knew I would continue with the practice.”  — MP
